【摘要】:Cyanideandhydrogencyanidearehighlytoxic.Regulationshavebeenestablishedtorequirethemonitoringofcyanideinindustrialanddomesticwastesandsurfacewaters.ItisusefultodeterminetheaquaticfreecyanidetoestablishanindexoftoxicitywhenawastewaterisintroducedintothenaturalenvironmentatagivenpHandtemperature.Thistestmethodisapplicablefornaturalwater,salinewaters,andwastewatereffluent.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtoestablishtheconcentrationoffreecyanideinanaqueouswastewateroreffluent.Thetestconditionsofthismethodareusedtomeasurefreecyanide(HCNandCN-)andcyanideboundinthemetal-cyanidecomplexesthatareeasilydissociatedintofreecyanideionsatthepHof6.FreecyanideisdeterminedatpH6atroomtemperature.TheaquaticfreecyanidecanbedeterminedbymatchingthepHtothewaterinthereceivingenvironmentintherangeofpH6to8.TheextentofHCNformationislessdependentontemperaturethanthepH;however,thetemperaturecanberegulatedifdeemednecessaryforaquaticfreecyanidetofurthersimulatetheactualaquaticenvironment.1.2ThefreecyanidemethodisbasedonthesameinstrumentationandtechnologythatisdescribedinstandardtestmethodD6888,butemploysmilderconditions(pH6-8bufferversusHClorH2SO4inthereagentstream),anddoesnotutilizeliganddisplacementreagents.1.3TheaquaticfreecyanidemeasuredbythisprocedureshouldbesimilartoactuallevelsofHCNintheoriginalaquaticenvironment.Thisinturnmaygiveareliableindexoftoxicitytoaquaticorganisms.1.4Thisprocedureisapplicableoverarangeofapproximately2to500x03BC;g/L(partsperbillion)freecyanide.Sampledilutionmayincreasecyaniderecoveriesdependingonthecyanidespeciation;therefore,itisnotrecommendedtodilutesamples.Higherconcentrationscanbeanalyzedbyincreasingtherangeofcalibrationstandardsorwithalowerinjectionvolume.InaccordancewithGuideE1763andPracticeD6512thelowerscopelimitwasdeterminedtobe9x03BC;g/Lforchlorinatedgoldleachingbarreneffluentwater.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specifichazardstatementsaregivenin8.6andSection9.
