【摘要】:Laboratoryproofingofinkisnecessarytoestablishareproduciblepredictionofprintappearanceandperformanceproperties,mostofwhicharehighlysensitivetoinkfilmthickness.Theapparatusdescribedinthispracticehasfoundwideuseforroutinecontrolproofingbecauseitprovidesaneconomicalmethodforproducingreasonablylargeprintsatfilmthicknessescomparabletothoseobtainedonproductionpresses.Thispracticedoesnotduplicatethedynamicsofahighspeedpress,nevertheless,itisusefulforqualitycontrolandforspecificationacceptancebetweentheproducerandtheuserwherethereisanagreeduponspecificationforreflectiondensityorstandardreferenceprint.1.1Thispracticecoverstheprocedureforpreparingprintsofpasteinksusingahandoperatedflat-bedlaboratoryproofpress.TheinitialmethodwasdevelopedbytheNationalPrintingInkResearchInstitute.1.3Thispracticeisapplicableprimarilytolithographicandletterpressinksthatdrybyoxidationorpenetration.Withtheadditionofappropriatedryingorcuringequipment,itisalsoapplicabletoothersystemssuchasheat-setorenergy-curable.1.4Theinstructionsinthispracticeareintendedtominimizethewithin-printandamong-operatorvariabilityinherentinhandoperations.1.5Thispracticedoesnotmeasuretheactualfilmthicknessontheprint,butevaluatesfilmthicknessequivalencebyvisualorinstrumentalcomparisonsofreflectiondensity.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusersofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionsaregiveninSection7.
